Pre-care & After-care

Before booking your treatment, please let us know of any medication or allergies as this might effect the treatment going ahead.

Pre-care for semi-permanent makeup

  • Please wear your normal make up on the day of your treatment.
  • Please DO NOT drink alcohol or caffeine in the 24-hour period prior to the treatment – As they both thin your blood and could result in excess bleeding, as well as compromise the overall quality and outcome of the treatment.
  • Please DO NOT shape or wax your eyebrows beforehand – Your technician will shape your eyebrows during the treatment.
  • Botox, AHA products, Retinoids and Laser treatments should be avoided for at least 2 weeks prior to the treatment.
  • Exfoliating treatments such as Microdermabrasion should not be performed within 2 weeks prior to treatment.
  • Chemical and laser peels should be avoided no less than 6 weeks prior to treatment.
  • Patients prone to cold sores/fever blisters should take an antiviral prior to treatment.
  • Hormone therapies can affect pigmentation and/or cause sensitivity – Please discuss with your therapist if you are using hormone therapies.
  • Do not undertake Intrusive treatments such as injectables, laser, needling and peels closer than 4 weeks before your appointment date.
  • All fake lashes and lash extensions must be removed no less than 2 weeks prior to having eye liner procedure.
  • No sun burnt/ treated or red skin from sun exposure is safe to tattoo on. If this occurs you will not be able to have treatment until this clear

After-care for semi-permanent EYEBROWS

Eyebrows

Wipe each brow gently using dabbing motions with cooled boiled water every few hours after your treatment, please ensure you have squeezed out the excess water.

Use a cotton pad to pat dry once dabbed with the cool boiled water. After this has been done, please re apply the cream provided by your practitioner. This is crucial to do for the first 24 hours after treatment to ensure all excess lymph fluid is removed from the surface of the brow. This will reduce any scabbing.

Clean each morning and evening. Following with a thin layer of aftercare cream.

No sun beds, makeup, swimming, chemicals, saunas etc until scabbing has healed.

After-care for semi-permanent LIPS

Lips

Cooled boiled water rinse out on cotton pad to wipe he lips in the mornings. Let them dry then apply the balm around 3 times a day to keep supple, carefully remove any food or external debris from the healing lips. You need to have a firm wipe which will be a little sore, but you need to ensure you wipe until any excess pigment is no longer showing on the cotton pad.

No salty, spicy food, makeup, no kissing until healed, no sun beds, swimming, chemicals, saunas etc until scabbing has healed.

After-care for semi-permanent EYELINER

Eyeliner

Let them heal naturally & only apply aftercare cream if needed.

Give a gentle wipe with cooled boiled water if they feel gritty.

No sun beds, swimming, chemicals, makeup, saunas etc until scabbing has healed.

Important reminders for semi-permanent makeup

  • Use a fresh pillowcase while you sleep.
  • DO NOT rub, pick, or scratch the treated area. Let any scabbing or dry skin naturally exfoliate away. Picking can cause scarring or loss of colour.
  • No facials, Botox, chemical treatments or microdermabrasion for 4 weeks.
  • Avoid hot, sweaty exercise for one week.
  • Avoid direct sun exposure or tanning for 4 weeks after the procedure. Wear a hat when outdoors.
  • Avoid sleeping on your face for the first 10 days.
  • Avoid face-down swimming, lakes, and hot tubs for the first 10 days,
  • Avoid topical makeup and sunscreen on the area.
  • Avoid long, hot showers for the first 10 days. Limit your showers to 5 minutes so that you do not create too much steam. Keep your face/procedure area out of the water while you wash your body, then, at the end of your shower, wash your hair. Your face should only be getting wet only at the end of the shower. Avoid excessive rinsing and hot water on the treated area.

Pre-care for tattoos

  • Regular Exfoliation: Exfoliate the skin a few weeks before to get the best from your moisturiser and get rid of any dead skin cells. (Twice a week)

After-care for tattoos

  • Keep the bandage on for 24 hours after getting the tattoo.
  • Wash the tattoo gently with soap and water after removing the bandage.
  • Pat the tattoo dry with a clean paper towel.
  • Apply a thin layer of lotion to keep the skin moisturized.
  • Avoid picking at or pulling off scabs.
  • Keep applying cream as and when needed.
